With this arrangement, The Evergreen Echo will operate under Shunpike's non-profit umbrella, enabling the publication to access previously unavailable funding opportunities through grants and donations. The partnership provides The Echo with access to Shunpike’s comprehensive business support, professional training programs, and expanded arts opportunities that will enhance its operational capacity.
Ry Armstrong, Founder of The Echo commented, “The Echo was born out of an inability to be heard in the mainstream as an up-and-coming artist. The larger publications didn’t have capacity to cover our work in the community, and that is unacceptable. So the answer for our cooperative was to build it so many more can be uplifted.”
“When we amplify the people, communities, and moments that routinely or strategically go unheard or unseen, we uplift everyone. We are honored to partner with Shunpike, to elevate our collective mission, and to provide a platform that shares what it means to live and thrive in our region,” added Mary Adner, Echo’s Editor.
