Happy Labor Day + Exciting News!

Dearest Gentle Reader,

(Ok, so we borrowed that iconic intro from a certain television show.)

Welcome! We’re The Evergreen Echo.

Our aim is simple: To amplify the voices of the silenced and to make visible the unseen around Puget Sound. Everything from theater to music to education to comedy to canvas to government to the glorious natural environs here and beyond…can all be viewed with an artistic lens. Where’s the beauty, the conversation, the joy, the humor, and the gobsmacking in what you observe? Let’s bring it to you with our words. We believe that the arts are interwoven in everything we experience, which is where our “arts” beats come from.

It's been a long road to get here, and we thank everyone who’s stuck with us through the soft launch kinks and curves thus far. Please continue to share and spread the word if you like our work and believe in a new form of journalism where writers own an equal means of production.

We’re excited to announce our official launch on Friday, September 13, 2024! Get ready for a brand new, gorgeous fresh face: We’re getting painted and fitted as we speak. Along with the facelift will come e-newsletters to bring featured moments right to your inbox, as well as even more content on the main site to keep you curious.

We’re looking forward to delivering you the best Puget Sound has to offer in the most wonderfully diverse way possible. Inclusion is “in” for the 21st century, and as such we’re disrupting the typical, traditional news industry with a co-op infrastructure. That’s right: Our writers own this thing, with a small, dedicated core team to help keep the lights on. We believe in transparency, authenticity, and remaining passionate about our stories and yours.

We invite you to take this fabulous journey with us as we uncover the scenes, people, and moments you might never have heard of elsewhere.

Happy Labor Day! We dedicate this launch to everyone doing their best to stay afloat, which is most likely you (unless you have a trust fund, then by all means hit us up!).

Solidarity forever,

The Echo Core Team
